Fall and spring reading series with local, national, and international writers. Past events have included writers like Ross Gay, Ilya Kaminsky, Charles Bukowski, and John Cheever.

Writing workshops and performance events. No current programming schedule but virtual opportunities are posted intermittently on social media. No in-person opportunities at this time.

The Nebraska Poetry Society is a diverse group dedicated to the art of poetry. Our goal is to provide opportunities for people of all ages and from all backgrounds to explore poetry. We host virtual events for beginners and professionals and provide opportunities to explore, learn and gain feedback on your writing.

Open to all writers and genres, based out of Des Moines, Iowa. Readings are currently virtual. Sign up in advance to be a featured reader or to request access to the reading.

From their website: “The mission of Humanities Nebraska is to help Nebraskans explore what connects us and makes us human.” Dozens of programs in place to offer educational opportunities, events, and workshops.

Promotes fellowship among Nebraska writers. Publishing, networking, and conference opportunities.

ECOLOGY + CREATIVITY
From their website: “The Naturalist School teaches people to become better naturalists, nature writers, feral poets, wild philosophers, ecological activists, and enlightened planters through consilience of ecology and creativity.” Winter and spring ecology and creativity workshop opportunities.

Variety of programming options, virtual and in-person. Weekly and monthly writing workshop opportunities. Quarterly readings.
